Citizen of Nowhere

Pricing

Do not compare the fee. Compare the return.

A fan data programme is bought out of a cost budget and judged on a revenue line. The right question is not what a day costs. It is how many real, consented, reachable people the property has at the end of the season that it did not have at the start, and how much of its sponsor income it can now prove.

Assumptions (edit them)

These are starting points for a conversation, not benchmarks. The first engagement replaces every one of them with your own numbers. Nothing here is a promise of a result.

What changes by the end of the season

Real people in the estate
0
The number that replaces the record count in the board paper.
Marketable people today, then after
0 to 0
Consent recorded by purpose, checked at the moment anything leaves.
Additional people the club may now reach
+0
Acquired at no media cost. They were already in the building.
Renewals with proof, and renewals that step up
0 proven, 0 step up
A renewal with a proof report is a different conversation from a renewal with a reach number.

Set the fee against those four lines, not against a day. If the lines do not move for your property, the honest answer is that you should not buy this, and I will say so on the first call.

How it is priced

Four shapes, stated before work starts

Fixed fee per offer

Each offer on the practice page has a scope, a duration and a deliverable, and is priced as one number before it starts. No timesheets, no surprises in month two.

Flat licence per property

Where the platform runs through a season, the property pays one flat annual amount. It does not rise with the number of fans, because a fan count should never be a reason to keep the estate small.

Proof fee per sponsor

Sponsor measurement is priced per sponsor per season, because that is the unit the commercial team sells and renews. It sits on the revenue line, not the technology budget.

Founding terms

Two founding properties each season take the platform at cost in exchange for a case study they approve and a reference call a quarter. Ask whether a place is open.

What is never in the price

  • No percentage of media spend. The practice is not paid more when a property spends more.
  • No referral fees from any vendor, and no co-selling. Where I advise a vendor on its product, it is disclosed in writing and I never advise you on a choice where that vendor is in the running.
  • No per-fan pricing. The estate should grow without the invoice growing with it.

Each offer is quoted as one fixed number once the scope is agreed on a first call. The platform licence and the proof fee are quoted per property and per sponsor the same way.
